Fuse Box / Consumer Unit Upgrades
.jpg)
We are specialists in upgrading old fuse boxes and consumer units. We offer excellent value and a professional service and are able to certify and obtain building regs approval for our work via NICEIC's competent person scheme.

Our NICEIC registration number is D610118.

We install only the best quality and value boards (usually FuseBox or Contactum) with RCBOs. We prefer RCBOs rather than split RCD boards as these offer better diversity across the installation (for example, a fault on a lighting circuit won't also bring down the sockets). We also install a Type 2 Surge Protection Device within the board which has been mandated since BS7671 18th Edition 2nd Amendment (BS 7671:2018+A2:2022) came into force in March 2022.
Domestic Consumer Unit upgrade. - £250 (Includes VAT and certification with building regs approval, does not include parts.)

The cost of parts depends on the number of circuits. A basic board with SPD costs from £60-£120. RCBOs are £15.35 each so you would require one per circuit. Additional materials would be grommets, meter tail extensions and isolators. A simple small installation could cost around £140 for parts. A larger, more complex one £250.
